Our Story
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) was founded in 1952 by Rev. Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi (1909–1980) in Lagos, Nigeria. Initially involved with indigenous African churches, Rev. Akindayomi received a divine vision to establish a ministry that would spread the message of holiness and redemption across the globe. This vision led to the birth of RCCG, which has grown exponentially over the decades, with a presence in 197 countries and territories and millions of members worldwide.
In 1981, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, a former university lecturer in Mathematics, succeeded Rev. Akindayomi as the General Overseer. Under Pastor Adeboye’s leadership, RCCG has experienced remarkable growth, emphasizing evangelism, church planting, and community development.
Aligned with RCCG’s global mission, RCCG Strong Tower Sanctuary was established on April 1, 2012, in Luton, United Kingdom. Our parish began with a divine mandate to serve as a place of refuge, worship, and transformation for individuals and families in Luton and the surrounding areas.
Under the leadership of Pastor Dejo Olesin, our church has grown from a small gathering into a vibrant, multicultural congregation passionate about worship, prayer, and community impact. Our journey has been marked by significant milestones that reflect God’s faithfulness and the dedication of our members:
- Expansion and Growth: Through strategic evangelism and impactful services, we have welcomed individuals from diverse backgrounds, all seeking to know and serve Christ wholeheartedly.
- Community Outreach and Impact: We actively engage in programs such as Impact Community Luton (ICO), food banks, welfare support, and wellness initiatives to uplift the less privileged and support our community.
- Empowering the Next Generation: Our Children’s and Youth Ministries focus on nurturing young believers, helping them grow in faith and develop their gifts.

Our vision is to see more souls won for Christ, families restored, and communities positively impacted through the love and teachings of Jesus.
